About

The Workshop

The Workshop is where ideas are transformed into capability and problems are solved.

It’s our engineering hub - where autonomous systems are conceived, built, tested, and refined to address real operational challenges.

Spanning the entire UAS ecosystem, our work covers software, platform design, RF, propulsion, and beyond - all tightly integrated from concept to prototype.

Our environment is transparent and experimentation-driven. We encourage rapid iteration, early learning, and constructive challenge, creating space for bold thinking and technical excellence.

By empowering exceptional engineers to explore, test, and improve without friction, The Workshop consistently delivers smarter, more resilient systems.

What you’ll do

  • Role

You will be responsible for translating Dracoe’s product strategy and vision into tangible results through electronic engineering design

and development. You will have significant influence and impact on Dracoe’s UAS capabilities with a specific focus on electronics, RF & digital hardware

You will help create outstanding autonomous systems that keep Dracoe at the forefront of both the consumer and defence drone markets, delivering reliable, intelligent UAS at scale.

Through rapid prototyping and mission driven engineering you will help create outstanding products that keep Dracoe at the forefront of both the consumer and Defence drone markets.

This is a hands-on role, requiring you to maintain and apply your practical expertise, with particular focus on PCB design and the design

and development of electronic subsystems for UAV platforms ensuring compliance with size, weight, and power (SWaP) constraints.

You’ll play a key role in enabling autonomous systems that support industry and western democracies

  • Responsibilities
    • PCB design
    • Design of electronic sub-systems for UAS
    • Conduct EMI & practical component testing to ensure overall system robustness
    • Digital component integration & validation including digital data-links.
    • Select, evaluate, and qualify sensors, communications systems, and third-party components
    • Troubleshoot complex system-level issues across mechanical, electrical, and software domains
    • Plan, execute, and analyze RF and communications testing to ensure robust, secure, and reliable C2.
    • Develop software and low-level firmware for UAS components such as flight controllers

Who you are

Experience

  • 3+ years of experience designing electronic components for UAS, aerospace, automotive or defence hardware.
  • Proficiency in electronic design tools (e.g., Altium Designer, OrCAD, KiCad, or equivalent), including schematic capture, PCB layout, and creation of production-ready fabrication and assembly documentation.
  • Experience designing for low-rate and ramping production in a startup or fast-paced environment, balancing performance, cost, and schedule constraints.
  • Practical knowledge of additive manufacturing
  • Proficiency with test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, RF power meters and telemetry tools
  • Working knowledge of propulsion systems, power distribution, batteries, and energy management

Skills

  • PCB Design & Validation
  • Embedded Electronics Design
  • Power Management
  • RF & Communications
  • Mavlink / BetaFlight / ArduPilot / PX4
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with the challenges of taking a concept through to mature prototype
  • Attention to detail and critical thinking.
  • Able to operate in ambiguity and take responsibility for delivery.
  • Thriving in a fast paced environment.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Demonstrated 3 years experience in electronic component design.

Desirable:

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering or Robotics.

Equivalent practical experience designing and building complex hardware systems will be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.

Desirable

  • Military experience or background in defence
  • Experience making products for national security customers
  • Experience in mass-production of digital systems and embedded electronics
  • Familiarity with STM32 chipset and flight controllers
  • Designing and integrating flight control electronics for UAVs, including autopilot systems and sensor fusion modules
  • Hands-on experience with RF/datalink hardware, including antenna integration, telemetry systems, and communication protocol testing
  • Exposure to technologies related to Uncrewed Systems such as fixed-wing flight mechanics, UAV control, mesh networking, and launch systems.

What you’ll get

Compensation
